Steve Towson's news and upcoming events:

  • It's less than one month until Steve Towson and Cameron Borg hit the Queensland roads; from the bottom to the tippity top or where ever their musical direction takes them. Cameron is the author of PUNK ROCKhampton and musician extraordinaire from Smegma, Dog Chairs and many other artistic brilliances. Check out the Steve Towson gig guide for tour details.

  • Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th March 2012 were two busy days of laying down guide tracks for the Second Session of Steve Towson and The Kunkala Station Band's "The Battle For Murphys Creek", to be a multi-release compendium of Australian and traditional bush songs and dances. These days featured the talented Luke Mysliwy (from Jack Flash) on violin, Ness Glenn (from Muziz and The Conscripts) on cello and Bryce Moorhead (Zero Interference studios) ably handling engineering and production.

  • Recently appearing in The Toowoomba Chronicle was unexpected but extremely positive article (Thursday 14th March 2012). The story revealed the establishment of the Australian Cultural Library that Steve Towson is establishing to preserve and collect contemporary and historical Australian cultural works of art, music, film and literature; this, even before any formal press release had been issued! Impressive investigative arts journalism by Chris Calcino.

  • Thanks to all who supported the final Australian "Steve Towson & The Conscripts" tour in July/August! Their final CD release CYGNUS OLOR can be purchased from the merch page.

  • Rage has played "Blood Is Red" from the "Cygnus Olor" CD several times in July. Check out the film clip by Jason Hardgreaves here (link to YouTube).

  • Steve Towson's latest solo CD, "The Beginning, The Struggle, and The Reward" (released April 2011) has his colours blazing more brightly than ever. The five tracks are a mixture of traditional songs from Australian and US workers' struggles, alongside contemporary songs including Steve's compositions. This release is sure to ignite the beliefs of workers passionate about their rights, and inspirational music.

  • Steve uses Tym Guitars, custom guitar and pedal manufacturer to the stars. Tym Guitars has a shop front in Fortitude Valley, Queensland - check it out.
